Concetta, in remaining bitter, ruined her life.

Yes, if we adapt and accept the ever increasing dictats of our rulers, we can continue to lead the same peaceful life, they promise. Clearly I'm missing something, but it is of no import.Alfredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694719785236153072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373780254831438828.post-70301260940417868072021-10-23T11:06:45.712-07:002021-10-23T11:06:45.712-07:00Watch this space for news of a government petition...Watch this space for news of a government petition on Net Zero..........Niall Warryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13815435878278635965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373780254831438828.post-8589022951710564202021-10-23T11:03:48.722-07:002021-10-23T11:03:48.722-07:00You miss the point - the staying the same applies ...You miss the point - the staying the same applies to our daily lives.Niall Warryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13815435878278635965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373780254831438828.post-46517939482338523452021-10-22T10:41:44.037-07:002021-10-22T10:41:44.037-07:00The death of David Ames served to highlight a few ...The death of David Ames served to highlight a few other issues, in my opinion.
1. The HoC and the 'bubble' media, seemed to be able to talk about nothing else for a few days, but about this 'wonderful' man. No one is that perfect especially as we read a bit more about his character, thanks to Dr. North. The sad thing is that lots more was happening in the world, ignored by our media.
2. There has been a growing epidemic of knife killings, over 20 in London alone, in the first six months of the year, but there was little media interest. To his credit, David Ames did raise this, in the HoC, with the PM, in March this year.
3. You would think that the only 'customer facing' people, of any importance, were MPs, forgetting all those many other occupations that are facing the brunt of a rising wave of 'customer' anger and intolerant behaviour. The HoC concern was highly introspective.
4. As you write, our MPs have become "quasi social workers to their constituents [and] that our governance is so lamentable". That is my experience. The man who represents government to me, locally, concentrates on photo opportunities in the local paper, attending fetes etc, doing the work of councillors and keeps clear of controversial subjects. Sadly, it seems to work for him.

The gulf between 'them' and us, has never been so wide, in living memory.

The Second Demand, 'Real Local Democracy', is desperately needed, but seems almost out of reach. As you wrote on Oct 13th, a good first step would be the use of referendums on some of the more devastating policy ideas such as those currently doing the rounds of the Westminster Executive's inner cabal.

"THA’s fourth demand ‘The People’s Consent’, through referendums, might prove to be an excellent initiative in generating the beginning of a THA implementation strategy.Alfredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694719785236153072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8373780254831438828.post-80976660549285413092021-10-22T10:35:18.249-07:002021-10-22T10:35:18.249-07:00"everything needs to change, so everything ca..."everything needs to change, so everything can stay the same" I must disagree. The revolution in the way we are governed has already taken place. Our governance must not be allowed to stay the same, in my opinion.Alfredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694719785236153072noreply@blogger.com
